Election lawyer claims that VP’ battle against fake news is “prior censorship”

Attorney Glenn Chong recently made a post on Facebook saying that Vice President Leonor “Leni” Robredo attacked the media and the media struck back.

In his post, he had a screenshot of a tweet made by Radyo Inquirer stating that they support Edu Panay who claimed in a news article that the VP lost over 21,000 votes in the recent ballot recount.

Chong said that it was unfortunate that Robredo chose to call out Panay during World Press Freedom Day.

He adds that this action from Robredo was a strategy to scare the media to not release news that is not in line with what Robredo wants.

Because of this, he says, is why the media, including Radyo Inquirer called on other journalists to fight against fake news.

"ROBREDO ATTACKS MEDIA, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

Wrong move. Wrong timing.
